WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

RENTAL INFORMATION

In most countries, the minimum age requirement to rent a vehicle is 25 years old.

Each driver must present a full, valid and original national driver’s license that has been held for at least 2 years. If your license is not in a language used in your destination country, an International Driver’s Permit that accompanies your national driver’s license is highly recommended. Some rental companies and government agencies require the submission of an IDP. It is the responsibility of the renter to present both their IDP and standard driver’s license when picking up the vehicle. For more information, please contact the rental company.

Each driver must present a valid photo ID or passport.

The renter must present a personal credit card, valid in the country of pick-up, with sufficient funds to suspend a security deposit. Third-party credit cards will not be accepted. The car rental company is solely responsible for the approval of the credit card provided. Online prepayment does not require the renter to provide a valid international credit card when picking up the vehicle. The rental company will retain the amount of the security deposit and, if applicable, any additional local charges not covered in the prepaid voucher on the card provided at the rental location.

A security deposit (or deposit) is required when you pick up your rental vehicle. An amount of $5000 MXN Pesos paid by Interac E-transfer is required and will be refunded when the vehicle will be returned under the same conditions.

Car rental insurances are included in rental prices and referred to as APD (Loss and Damage Waiver) and Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and cover damage to the vehicle in an accident. Note that a deductible of $10 000 MXN pesos is due before any claims.

Car rental companies reserve the right to refuse service to underage or unlicensed drivers, those with poor credit histories, or individuals who would be considered at risk by the rental company.
